1. Why you are reading this
Section 5 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires the Firm, as Data Fiduciary, to tell you certain things before or when it asks for your consent. This is that notice. It is addressed to everyone whose personal data this website collects, whom the Act calls a Data Principal.
2. What we take, and what for
From the forms: your name, your telephone number, your email address, your company if you give one, your message and the time of day you would prefer a call. We use them to answer you and to put you in touch with a partner.
From the cookie banner: the choice you made, kept so that we do not ask you again. No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies are set.
Your internet address: used for the moment it takes to send an enquiry, only to stop the form being abused, and not kept with what you wrote.
That is everything we collect from visitors. For the few people at the Firm who sign in to look after this website, it also keeps what the Privacy Policy lists: their sessions, the browsers and addresses they sign in from, and what they use for two-step verification.
3. Your consent
We ask for it through the box on each form and through the cookie banner. It is free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous, and it covers only what this notice says.
You can withdraw it at any time by writing to the Grievance Officer. Withdrawing does not undo what we have already done, and it may mean we can no longer answer your enquiry.
4. What you can ask for, and how
You can ask us for a summary of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or erase it, and name someone to act for you.
Write to the Grievance Officer at yanus.shukla@yshj.co.in, or by post to Shop no. 4, Yamnotri Building, Ovaripada, Dahisar East, Mumbai 400068. We acknowledge your request and act on it within the time the Act and the Rules allow.
5. Complaints
Yanus Shukla, Partner is our Grievance Officer and deals with complaints.
If the answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, in the manner Section 13 of the Act prescribes.
6. Language
This notice is in English. Ask us and we will provide it in any language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.
7. As the Act comes into force
The Act and its Rules are being brought into force by notification, a part at a time. We comply with each part as it takes effect.
