1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of data a website leaves on your device, so that it can remember something the next time you visit. Browser storage does much the same job. Most websites use both to remember preferences and to watch how the site is used.
2. The cookies we set
A visitor gets one, and it is necessary.
yshj_consent remembers what you chose on the cookie banner, so you are not asked again. It lasts twelve months.
The rest are set only for the people who sign in to the Administration area to look after this website. A visitor never gets them.
__Host-yshj_session holds a sign-in. It is a random code that only the server can match to a person, and it stops working after two hours without use, or twelve hours in any case.
__Host-yshj_device lets the website recognise a browser it has seen before, so that a sign-in from a new one can be pointed out to the person whose account it is. It lasts thirteen months.
yshj_edit is set while someone is editing the website on the page, and lapses two hours after it is turned on or last saved. __Host-yshj_pending lasts the ten minutes between a right password and the second step of signing in. yshj_zoho_state, yshj_zoho_expect and yshj_zoho_outcome last the few minutes it takes to connect one of the Firm's mailboxes.
None of these needs your consent: the first exists to honour the choice you made, and the others to let the Firm run and protect its own website.
The content of the website and the enquiries we receive are kept on the Firm's own server, not on your device. No cookie is involved in either.
We set no analytics cookies. If we ever want to, we will set them only after you have chosen Accept all.
We set no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and nothing from a social network. We have no plans to.
3. Your choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks you to choose Accept all or Necessary only.
You can change your mind whenever you like through the Cookie preferences link in the footer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser, though parts of the website may then stop working properly.
4. What allows us to set them
The necessary cookies are set under Section 7 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as processing needed for the very thing you asked for.
Anything not necessary would be set only with your consent, as the Information Technology Act, 2000 requires and, where they apply to you, the ePrivacy rules of the European Union and the United Kingdom.
